Ord River Discoverer with Sunset
Our most popular touring option! You will be collected from your accommodation at 11.30am and taken by coach through Durack country to Lake Argyle (70km). As we near Lake Argyle, we will take a short break at the historic Durack Homestead Museum. Re-boarding the coach, we drive the short distance to Lake Argyle Resort before viewing the enormous Lake Argyle from a scenic look-out. Crossing the Ord Top Dam wall, guests will see the Ord Hydro-Power Station before boarding their Triple J Tours boat for a scenic 55km journey back to Kununurra. Marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way, including the elusive freshwater crocodile! Enjoy afternoon tea at our riverside camp before heading back to Kununurra. Take in a colourful East Kimberley sunset before docking back at the Marina and re-boarding your coach for your accommodation drop-off at around 6.00pm.
Ord River Experience with Riverside Lunch
Working in reverse from our Ord River Discoverer with Sunset, you will be collected from your accommodation at 9.00am before boarding your Triple J Tours boat from the Marina. Cruising this spectacular waterway, you will marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way and maybe even spot a crocodile! Relax a while as we stop at one of our Riverside Camp’s for a sumptuous buffet lunch, before we then have you cruising up to the Ord Top Dam – an incredible sight when finding yourselves at its water line base on the Lake Kununurra side! As we leave the Lake Argyle township, we will make a short stop at the historic Durack Homestead Museum. Re-boarding the coach, we will return you to your accommodation in Kununurra through Durack country, arriving at approximately 3.30pm.
Ord River Explorer with Sunset
If you have already been to Lake Argyle, then this is the Ord River journey for you! You will be collected from your accommodation at 11.30am and taken by coach to board your Triple J Tour from the Marina. Cruising the 55km to Lake Argyle, you will marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way, including the elusive freshwater crocodile! Remaining on the boat at the base of the Ord Top Dam, you will cruise back towards Kununurra, stopping for afternoon tea at our riverside camp. Scenic photographers will appreciate the contrast in colours as the light changes the way the gorges and ranges look on the return journey. We will return you to your Kununurra accommodation at around 6.00pm after enjoying an East Kimberley sunset on board the boat.
