Triple J Tours
Description
The Ord River Irrigation Scheme commenced with the completion of the Diversion Dam across the Ord River near Kununurra in 1963.
In 1972 the main Ord River Dam, 55km upstream was completed, resulting in the formation of Lake Argyle. These two dams now have permanent water between them that has created a new and constantly evolving ecosystem.
Triple J Tours now operate three boats on the Ord River. All skippers are experienced and share a love of the area. As well as magnificent scenery, prolific bird life and varying fauna, each tour is enhanced by an informative commentary.
All tours offered incorporate the main, Ord River Dam cruise which is the longest daily river cruise in Australia, traveling 55km from Kununurra to the Ord Dam. It passes through a variety of different landscapes from the wide expanse of Lake Kununurra through the magnificent Carlton Gorge into the true Ord River.
