Kooljaman at Cape Leveque
Kooljaman at Cape Leveque is a unique wilderness style luxury camp on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula, 220km north of Broome. It is jointly owned by Djarindjin and One Arm Point Aboriginal communities. Here you can enjoy a diverse range of nature based exp eriences including; gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, swimming in azure waters, photography, beachcombing, bush tucker tours, spectacular walks, whale watching and bird spotting.
The restaurant offers a range of seafood, salads, steak and pasta dishes. Main meals range from $25 through to $40. Delicious entrees and deserts are also available. We do not sell alcohol at Kooljaman though you are most welcome to bring your own. Children’s meals are available and special dietary requirements can usually be catered for by prearrangement. For guests wanting to enjoy the beautiful serenity and views from their private balcony, Kooljaman at Cape Leveque offer a ‘Bush Butler’ service. Gourmet BBQ dinners are prepared in the restaurant including premium cuts of meat or fish, salads, garlic bread and condiments. These are delivered to guests rooms by their ‘Bush Butler’ and placed in their refrigerator and include the following - collected from the restaurant to cook up on their BBQ when ready to dine. Self catering full or continental breakfast baskets are also available.
There is a small general store, which has basic items available, such as barbecue packs, frozen bread, ice creams, UHT milk, ice, bait and some canned goods. It is worthwhile to note that no fresh fruit or vegetables are available for sale.
Both One Arm Point and Djarindjin Community have shops which are open on weekdays with a good range of grocery items including meat, fruit, vegetables etc. Both shops are within 20 km of Kooljaman.
Fuel cards can be purchased directly from the communities of One Arm Point or Djarindjin/Lombadina during office hours. These cards can be used to access fuel (24hrs) from the bowsers located at One Arm Point & Djarindjin Communities (both 18km from Kooljaman). Emergency fuel cards can sometimes be purchased from Kooljaman for use at the communities, though extra charges do apply.
Mask and snorkel sets are available for hire. Fishing tackle and hand lines can be purchased from the shop.
We do not have alcohol for sale but you are more than welcome to bring your own with you.
There are laundry facilities available in the campground.
Kooljaman at Cape Leveque has a variety of accommodation and has been designed to capture the rugged natural character of the Kimberley region. There are 14 safari tents, 2 en-suite cabins, 4 log cabins, 3 campground units, 10 dome tents, 11 beach shelters and 26 campsites.
Safari Tents - Panoramic ocean views, large deck and own bathroom. Self catering with fridge, BBQ, linen and bath towels, provided with family bed configurations.
Ensuite Cabins - Bush setting with own bathroom, sleeps 5. Self catering with fridge BBQ, linen and bath towels provided.
Log Cabins - Close to the beach with 1 double and 2 single beds. 2 cabins share a bathroom. Self catering with fridge, BBQ and bed linen provided.
Units - Basic rooms sleeps 3 or 4 and share bathroom facilities with the campers. Self catering with fridge, BBQ and bed linen provided.
Mini Safari Tents - Futon Bed, double or 2 single beds with fan, light and an outdoor verandah. BBQ facilities & fridge located nearby in campground. Share bathroom facilities with campers. Hire linen available.
