Exmouth Peninsula Western Australia is one of a few places in the world to see the full Solar Eclipse in 2023.
Exmouth Western Australia is where the next full solar eclipse takes place 2023.
At about 11:27am on April 20 2023 the sun, moon and the earth's discs will all align for 1 minute and 16 seconds. The best viewing point is know to be between the Exmouth town site and Learmonth Airport.
The North West Cape in Exmouth, is the only location on mainland Australia to sit right on the path of this solar eclipse.
50,000 visitors are expected to head to Exmouth, this will overshadow the 2,700 residents, all chasing a short glimpse of this solar eclipse. The last event was in 2017 in Madras Oregon, United States.
If you miss this chance the next full Solar Eclipse will be in 2031, and Western Australia will once again benefit from this event too.
Getting to the Exmouth Peninsular is not a journey you should undertake likely. A 1,270 km drive north of Perth or a 1,400km drive south from Broome.
Accommodation in this tiny town is booked out for this worldwide interest event. The eclipse will also occur during local school holidays which has compounded accommodation issues.
