We are not a hotel, not a motel, not a farm stay, not a bed and breakfast, not a roadhouse, but we are an Australian outback mixture of all these things. We are a great service point for anything you may need while traveling North to the Mitchell Falls or to Kalumburu. For those who lack the time or a suitable vehicle to travel North of us then we also offer scenic aeroplane flights and full day trips to the Mitchell Falls. The day trips offer a combination of aeroplane, 4WD , hike and helicopter, allowing you to still visit the Mitchell Falls on ground.
We are probably one of the most remote accommodation in Australia, our comfortable rooms will provide your basic needs while reflecting that we are a very remote cattle station. Most of the rooms have a veranda and seating for a relaxing sit and a cuppa. Regretfully we are one of the few places that still can not offer guests Wi-Fi, TV or mobile phone coverage. A public phone is available for guest use and we are now on the approved list for the installation of a Telstra mobile phone tower.
All our rooms while offering limited facilities are clean and comfortable, the room styles range from very basic to the option of en suite and air conditioning. This is an outback cattle station, not a 5-star city accommodation. Guests can enjoy the more laid back atmosphere and the Kimberley north beer garden where travellers can enjoy a chat to others around a log fire on cold nights. We offer all services a traveller may need including scenic flights, fuel supply, a small shop, tyre repair and supply. The Drysdale River is only 2 km away and offers clear water over white sand and often very good bird watching. A public phone is available and only accepts coins or a Telstra phone away card which is available to purchase on-site.
All meals are available at the Homestead Restaurant, relaxed outdoor dining in the dining area or the beer garden. Breakfast is a choice of continental or a hearty country full cooked option where you chose your own selection and as much as you would like. Lunch is available for 11am to 2pm in the beer garden, offering a short order menu board including our huge well known ‘Kimberley Beef Burgers’. These are old fashioned style with homemade beef patties that really are all meat. Dinner is hot ‘ bain marie’ style where you can chose own preferences.
