We also offer an array of exciting tours and experiences from pearling tours, sea safaris and cultural experiences. No visit to the farm is complete without jumping on our Pearl Farm Discovery Tours which run daily.
We offer a wide range accommodation options from camping to glamping eco-safari tents, heritage pearling shacks and even a magnificent private retreat set on its own private headland with unlimited views and exclusive beaches. Most of our accommodation is set around Divers Creek, traditionally an area for housing our pearling crew, it has been re-purposed with travellers in mind. Diver’s Creek is a 1km drive from the main Pearling Village where our pool, restaurant, reception and pearl gallery are located. Transfers can be arranged with advance notice, although the walk down the red dirt track is a peaceful, nature filled addition to your stay.
The home of the Australian pearl, Cygnet Bay offers you the rare opportunity to purchase pearls direct from the waters in which they were farmed. Dine by candle light overlooking the bay, relax by our infinity pool, view natural phenomenons such as staircase to the moon and Waterfall Reef and discover the world’s largest tropical tides at Broome’s working pearl farm – an absolute must for any trip to Broome and surrounds.
Our restaurant caters for both in-house guests and day visitors to the farm. With sweeping views of the bay from the veranda and a horizon-edged pool our restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our menus draw inspiration from our pearling history with seafood & Asian inspired dishes. The Australian pearling industry was shaped by the many countries & cultures their workers originated from. Malay, Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian & Japanese fusion was common in many households of Broome. The crews of the pearl luggers would often eat whatever was readily available with the hunting knowledge & cultural influence of the local saltwater people ensuring seafood was always a popular menu item. Eating the pearl meat & other parts of the pearl oyster is these days considered a rare delicacy, however this was a staple of the early pearling crews.
What To Expect
Experience Broome’s working pearl farm. An epic story; the original Australian owned and operated pearl farm spans four generations of the Brown Family over more than 70 years. Until recently, it has been an exclusive pearling village accessible only to our pearl farm team and the local Bardi people. In an industry first, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm “opened the gate” and invited travellers to share in this very special place, recently described as “one of the most unique destinations in Australia”.
200 km north of Broome, on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula, the farm’s remote location gives visitors a unique Kimberley Coast experience. Easily visited on day trips by road, air or sea or for the full experience, choose to immerse yourself in this stunning and remote location by staying a night or two on the farm in a genuine pearling shack, glamping safari tent or campgrounds. Explore the iconic destinations of Cape Leveque, the Buccaneer Archipelago, Horizontal Waterfalls and Cygnet Bay Pearl farm all from the tip of the beautiful Dampier Peninsula.
