Itinerary:
Day 1: Darwin – On arrival in Darwin make your own way to the Darwin Central Hotel. Your car hire has been booked from the city depot for this afternoon. Tonight you’ll explore Darwin Harbour with a *Sunset Dinner Cruise on Darwin Harbour, a fantastic afternoon enjoying the sun set on the Indian Ocean in tropical Darwin.
Day 2: Darwin – This morning you’ll have some free time to explore yourself, before your afternoon Darwin City Sights Tour. The perfect introduction to Darwin you’ll cover many of the highlights including a visit to the Museum & Art Gallery, where the Cyclone Tracey Gallery gives a fascinating insight into the events of Christmas Day 1974.
Day 3: Kakadu – This morning start your journey down the Stuart Highway to reach the world renowned Kakadu National Park. Explore the wetlands on the popular *1.5 hour Yellow Water Cruise. Your overnight accommodation is at the Gagudju Lodge Cooinda.
Day 4: Katherine – From Kakadu National Park make your way to the township of Katherine, explore the magnificent Nitmiluk National Park with a *2 hour cruise down the beautiful gorges. Your overnight accommodation is at the All Seasons Katherine.
Day 5: Kununurra – From Katherine you will cross the border into Western Australia passing Keep River National Park and Lake Argyle which are two major attractions along with way. Your accommodation for the next 4 nights is at The Kimberley Grande.
Day 6: Kununurra – Today’s tour combines two of the highlights, Lake Argyle and a cruise along the Ord River with the *Lake Argyle Bus/Boat tour with Triple J Tours. This is the perfect way to experience the spectacular scenery first hand.
Day 7: Kununurra/El Questro – *A full day tour to El Questro Wilderness Park showcases Emma Gorge, Zebedee Springs and a cruise on the Chamberlain River.
Day 8: Kununurra/Bungle Bungles - *A full day tour to the World Heritage listed Bungle Bungle National Park. Your full day tour with Slingair starts with a scenic flight over Lake Kununurra and Lake Argyle before you land at the Bungles for a 4WD/walking tour along Piccaninny Creek to Cathedral Creek, including lunch in the heart of the Gorge. Option to add an incredible helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles (optional at additional cost).
Day 9: Fitzroy Crossing – Fitzroy Crossing is your next port of call, and the home of Geikie Gorge. Dependant on your arrival time you may be able to take an afternoon or morning cruise on Geikie Gorge (at additional cost). Your overnight accommodation is at the Fitzroy River Lodge.
Day 10-11: Broome – Today you will leave behind the remote Kimberley and travel to Broome, a unique and exotic town bounded by the sparkling turquoise waters of Cable Beach. Your accommodation for the next 2 nights is at the Mercure Broome.
Day 12: This morning you will need to return your vehicle to the depot and prepare for your departure to your homeport or stay longer to soak up the character of unique and exotic Broome.
