Kalbarri, nestles on the Murchison River where it meets the Indian Ocean is one of WA's favourite holiday destinations, and it's easy to see why! There is natural beauty everywhere with rugged coastal cliffs, dramatic river gorges and sparkling blue ocean. Between July and October wildflowers burst into bloom in the Kalbarri National Park, providing a spectacular array of colour.
Pelican feeding on the foreshore is a must, and between June and November the seasonal migration of humpback whales brings them close to the Kalbarri shoreline. Try your hand at fishing or canoeing up the Murchison River, explore the many gorges, or for the more adventurous, try abseiling in the National Park.
Climate: The average maximum temperature in winter is 22 degrees, and in summer is 33 degrees, making Kalbarri a great year round holiday destination.
