Perth City Centre is located alongside the peaceful waters of the Swan River, twenty Kilometres inland of the Indian Ocean on the West Coast of Australia.The city centre bustles with activity and offers a range of choices for shopping. If you enjoy long relaxing walks along clean sandy beaches, swimming in the surf on a warm sunny day, or perhaps lazing on a beach towel while watching the world go by, then visit the sunset coast which comprises of a ong stretch of premier coastline and beach side suburbs, from Cottesloe west of Perth, to Mindarie Keys north west of the Perth city centre. Public Transport: Within the city centre there are modern CAT buses that provide Free transport around the city centre. There are aslo Free Transit Zone buses and trains that travel within the city limits. CAT bus stops are easily recognisable and FTZ signposts are displayed on route limits. Trains run between the city and Armidale (South East), Midland (East), Mandurah (South), Fremantle and Clarkson (North). Buses service most other areas. Ferries operate between the city and South Perth (Zoo) and Fremantle. Taxis may be hailed on the street or are available from designated taxi ranks. Climate: Perth experiences mild winters and hot dry summers. The summer months are hot with an average temperature of 29 degrees Celsius during the day, and 17 degrees celsius at night, however temperatures can soar to over 40 degrees occasionally. Perth experiences a very low rate of humidity, and it is recommended that you drink lots of fluids to avoid becoming dehydrated. It is advisable that when out in the sun you always wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. The winter months in Perth are from June to August and are mild, with an average temperature of 18 degrees C during the day, and 9 degrees C at night. The wettest month of the year is July, and the average yearly rainfall is around 880mm.
