MV Odyssey II is a custom-built expedition catamaran, ideal for cruising the spectacular Kimberley coastline and caters for up to 20 guests with 5 crew. Accommodation onboard comprises of 10 cabins which are all fully air conditioned, have a reading light, 240 volt power, small closet and bar fridge. Four spacious bathroom facilities are shared amongst all cabins.
The Standard Twin cabins located on the lower deck feature 2 single beds and large port holes.
The Deluxe Double cabins located on the main deck feature a Queen bed which can be split into singles, a desk, vanity basin and large windows.
Onboard facilities include an indoor dining area and an upper rear deck which is under shade and used for alfresco style dining. The vessel can be reached by satellite or fax (additional costs) and is fitted with state of the art navigation and communications equipment. A full DVD entertainment system is onboard and a general documentary, entertainment DVD/book library, washing machine, dryer, iron and hairdryers are available for your convenience.
MV Odyssey II carries its own unique tender vessel for shore based expeditions; 12m expedition vessel ‘Homer’ carriers 20 guests quietly in a comfortably shaded area, it also has an on-board toilet and water facilities and has an easy access ramp and stairs for landings. Two other smaller tender vessels can also quickly whisk you away for fishing or mud crabbing.
All meals are prepared by your onboard chef. Non- alcoholic beverages are complimentary, 24 hour Tea/Coffee and Hot Chocolate station. Excursions are undertaken daily. A scenic helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls is included. Fishing equipment is provided. Complimentary transfers to the vessel from accommodation is included only. You can BYO alcohol (except from Mitchell Plateau Fly-in Cruise) or you can purchase from the onboard bar.
There is an abundance of fish in the waters of the Kimberley ranging from pelagic such as Trevally and Tuna to estuarine fish like Barramundi or a Mangrove Jack, MV Odyssey is well equipped with Shimano and Penn fishing equipment to help you catch them or if your prefer bring you own favorite rod and tackle. Odyssey Expeditions has a catch and eat or release license, if you catch it our chef will scale it, clean it and make a mouth watering feast of it, but no one can take fish home, just a photo - a permanent reminder of your catch.
What to bring
Pack in soft bags please for easy storage aboard the seaplane. In tropical conditions, shorts and lightweight shirts are the most comfortable shoes are not normally worn on-board. Camera with plenty of film/spare memory card, Bathers, Hard sole shoes that you do not mind getting wet, Motion sickness preventative, Insect repellent Sunscreen & chap stick, Small Backpack (preferably waterproof) suitable to carry camera equipment and your water bottle (provided by odyssey) Binoculars (for bird watching), Hat. You can also bring along fishing tackle if you wish or can purchase on board.
